Confidentiality

We take the confidentiality of our patient's health information extremely seriously. Unless required by law, we will not release any details regarding your child's health without consent.

Insured Services (OHIP COVERED SERVICES)

Parents are responsible for accurate and up to date health card information. Please bring your health card for each visit. Failure to provide accurate and up to date health card information will result in your claim to OHIP being rejected. Rejected claims are subject to $30.00 administrative fees plus cost of visit.

If your baby is a newborn, the OHIP number from the hospital is only temporary. You must register with OHIP as soon as possible to obtain a valid permanent OHIP card.

If your child does not have OHIP coverage but has private insurance we will bill you for services and provide you with an official receipt. Use this receipt to claim reimbursement.

Walk In

We don't provide appointments our pediatricians see patients on a first come first serve basis.

  • We are open 7 days a week, including weekends. Our late hours help provide patient care when your family physician's office is closed or not available. You do not need an appointment to be seen (for urgent conditions) unless you want to book an appointment with the pediatrician who accepted your child to be under his/her care. Our clinics provides care for children beyond the hours offered by most Pediatricians and Family Physicians.
  • Please be advised to arrive 30 mins before closing time.
  • This is not an emergency care facility. Please proceed to your nearest emergency room if you require emergency care.
  • It is advisable to call ahead before leaving home to inquire about pediatrician's breaktime, availability and wait time.
  • Missed specialist appointments
    • Appointments not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance are charged to the patient at a rate of $40 plus HST for regular visits. This is a clinic-wide policy that applies to all patients.
  • Please notify our staff of changes to address, telephone work or cell phone numbers.
  • Please alert our staff on arrival of high fever, breathing problems or rashes with fever.
  • Aggressive, confrontational and rude conduct in our office will not be tolerated and is subject to dismissal from our practice.
  • Pediatric Urgent Care™ is not associated with any pharmacy chains , parents can be seen at any pharmacy they wish.

Lab Results

Most test results will arrive to our office 7 days after being performed. They will arrive directly to the physician who ordered them. If patients are concerned, curious or still having symptoms while waiting for test results, patients are encouraged to come in and speak with the doctor. At no conditions will results be given or discussed over the phone.

Due to OHIP regulations and privacy concerns, we are unable to offer any medical advice or management over the phone, fax or via email. Communication with administrative staff is also against provincial privacy regulations and you will be instructed to communicate all medical concerns with your doctor at your appointment.
